Google to Open Biz App Store: WSJ

It’s meant to help Google Apps make headway against Microsoft

Google on Ulitzer

Google is supposed to open a store to push third-party online business apps that integrate with its Google Apps, according to the Wall Street Journal. It's meant to help Google Apps make headway against Microsoft. It expects the independent developers to flesh out its feature set like Saleforce.com's AppExchange. The paper expects Google to overhaul its Solutions Marketplace site for that purpose and maybe liftoff next month. Google reportedly means to make the site accessible from inside Gmail and Google Docs and put the venture on a revenue-sharing basis. Like it needs the money.
